Daisy

Meet Daisy, a beautiful 6-month-old black Lab, Great Dane, and Husky mix with a sweet personality, a playful streak, and plenty of puppy energy still to grow into!

Daisy’s general temperament is calm, excitable, and incredibly sweet. Around adults she knows, she is happy, comfortable, and affectionate. With new people, she can be a little cautious at first, but she is interested and willing to warm up once she feels safe.

Daisy enjoys children, but she can become very excited and rambunctious during play, so supervision and continued work on puppy manners will be important. She absolutely loves other dogs and brings lots of energy to playtime. Around cats, she has shown curiosity while remaining calm.

She is completely potty trained, although we still recommend keeping a close eye on her while she adjusts to a new home. Daisy is crate trained and already knows several commands, including her name, kennel, down, and no bark. She has shown no food aggression or resource guarding and has no bite history.

Daisy does well on a leash but can be a little skittish when vehicles pass nearby. Once she is inside the car, however, she rides well. She is nervous during baths but they can be completed successfully. Her nails have not yet been trimmed, and she is nervous during veterinary visits, so a patient and reassuring approach will be important while helping her become more comfortable with handling.

Like many young dogs, Daisy still has a few habits that will need continued training. She experiences some separation anxiety and has been known to entertain herself by destroying plants if left alone for longer periods. She also loves to dig and has previously dug her way out of a yard, so Daisy should not be left outside unsupervised and will need a secure yard and attentive family.

Daisy is still very young and has tremendous potential. She would do best with a family willing to continue her training, provide plenty of exercise and enrichment, and give her the patience and consistency she needs as she grows into adulthood.
