40–80 Acres. One Chance. A Future We Can Build Together.

We’ve always said that what we do goes far beyond handing out supplies or covering a night in a hotel. Those things matter — they save lives in the moment — but they are not the end goal. The goal has always been stability. A real path forward.
And now, we’ve been given an opportunity that could completely change what that looks like.
A supporter of ours — someone who already owns land in Rush, about 40 miles east of Colorado Springs — has come to us with the possibility of purchasing 40–80 acres from them. Even saying that out loud feels surreal.
This isn’t just land.
This is the foundation for something we’ve been working toward for a long time.
The vision is to create a more cost-effective, traditional housing setup for the people we serve. Something more stable than bouncing between camps, cars, and short-term hotel stays. A place where people can actually begin to rebuild their lives without constantly starting over.
We also want to build a sober living component into this space.
Because the truth is, sobriety is one of the hardest battles we see people fighting every single day. And trying to maintain that while living in survival mode — surrounded by chaos, instability, and constant displacement — is nearly impossible. We want to create an environment that actually supports recovery. One that offers structure, accountability, and a real chance at long-term success.
And beyond that, we would create our own version of a safe parking program on the property.
For so many people, their vehicle is the last thing they have. It’s their shelter, their storage, their sense of safety. But right now, there are very few places where they can park without fear of being moved along, ticketed, or worse. We want to change that. We want to create a designated, safe space where people living in their vehicles can stay without constant disruption — a place where they can rest, access resources, and begin working toward their next step.
The land itself is currently undeveloped, which means we would need to build from the ground up.
But here’s the part that gives us a lot of hope…
We already have highly skilled laborers who are more than willing to step in and help us build — at no cost. People who believe in what we’re doing enough to donate their time, their knowledge, and their hands to help bring this to life.
That kind of support is something you can’t buy.
It means that while this project is big, and while it will still require significant funding for materials, infrastructure, utilities, and everything that goes into making land livable — we are not starting from zero. We have a foundation, not just in land, but in people who are ready to build it alongside us.
This opportunity represents a shift.
From temporary solutions to something lasting. From reacting to crisis… to helping prevent it.From survival… to rebuilding.
But we want to be completely transparent about one thing:
Pulling this off is going to take funding. A lot of it.
From purchasing the land, to preparing it, to building out housing, to establishing a sober living program, to creating a safe and functional parking area — this is one of the biggest things we’ve ever taken on.
And we’re not going to pretend otherwise.
What we can say is this: if we can make this happen, the impact will be life-changing for so many people we serve every single day.
This is the next evolution of Pay It Fur-Ward.
And just like everything else we’ve done, it will take a community to bring it to life.
We’ll be sharing more soon about what this looks like, what the needs are, and how you can be part of it.
For now, we’re putting this out there honestly and openly…
Because this isn’t just a dream anymore.
It’s an opportunity.
And we’re ready to fight for it.
