We currently have an outstanding hotel bill of nearly $2,000 that must be paid as soon as possible.
This past week has been brutally hot here in Colorado Springs, with temperatures reaching 100 degrees on Thursday alone. Keeping people and their animals safe in these conditions is incredibly difficult, especially for those with serious medical conditions.
Right now, we have five rooms occupied:
-1 Sobriety/DV room (currently paid for)
-1 Sobriety Transitional Housing room
-1 Medical Transitional Housing room
-1 Additional Medical Transitional Housing room
-1 Temporary Medical Housing room
The rooms that are not paid for are at risk of being lost if we cannot catch up on this bill immediately. That would mean vulnerable people and their pets being forced back onto the streets during dangerous weather conditions. For some, it could mean an immediate relapse. For others with severe medical issues, it could become a life or d3ath situation.
We cannot allow that to happen.
I am personally going to put as much of this expense on my credit cards as possible, but we desperately need help from our community to keep these rooms available and continue providing stability for those who need it most.
