Crisis for Danielle, Derek and the pups
Danielle reached out to me early this morning in a panic. She texted me because she didn’t know what to do. The weather has been brutal, tonight is going to be 8 degrees, and she and Derek were facing the very real possibility of having to leave their hotel with no safe backup plan. The stress of it all was starting to cause tension between them. That is not the kind of weather we can leave people and animals outside in. Not on our watch. So I went online and booked them in t

Corey & Aurora are safe until Tuesday. But donations are still needed.
Corey is officially booked in through Tuesday. We were able to extend his stay at a lower rate by booking through Expedia, saving $19 per night, which just made the most sense. The total cost to keep Corey (and Aurora) safe and warm through Tuesday was $140. I also called the hotel directly, and they are aware this is an extension of his current booking. I’ll need to go in on Saturday to cover an additional incidentals hold, which is not an issue at all, as long as Corey and

It’s (was) $5 Friday, and Colorado Springs is buried in snow.
The Springs just got hit hard, and with these freezing temperatures and snow piling up, the people and pets on our caseload are facing some of the coldest, most dangerous conditions of the year. As we say goodbye to 2025 and welcome in 2026, our hearts are filled with gratitude for every single person and animal who became part of the Pay It Fur-Ward family this past year. It’s $5 Friday, friends!
Every single week, you all help us change lives, not with huge gestures, but with small acts of kindness that add up to real world impact. $5 may not seem like much on its own… but when a community comes together with $5 hearts, homeless pets stay warm, bellies get fed, meds get purchased, and hope survives. If just 20 people donated $5 today, that’s: a warm tent for someone with their companion, a week of pet food, medical supplies for animals in crisis, transportation to ap

Emergency Help Needed to Get Danielle, Jesse, and Their Dogs Out of the Cold! Friends, we need your help! Danielle is facing dangerously cold weather this week in Colorado Springs.
With her health challenges and limited mobility, staying outside is unsafe. Jesse will be staying with her in a hotel room, and her dogs need to come too, they can’t be left behind. The hotel is $318 for the week, plus $250 for the dogs (they charge $25 per dog per day, and the puppies don’t count). In total, we’re raising $568 to get Danielle, Jesse, and the dogs into a warm, safe place. The temperatures are dropping fast, with lows tonight around 15°F and snow and freezing
