Crisis for Danielle, Derek and the pups

Danielle reached out to me early this morning in a panic. She texted me because she didn’t know what to do. The weather has been brutal, tonight is going to be 8 degrees, and she and Derek were facing the very real possibility of having to leave their hotel with no safe backup plan. The stress of it all was starting to cause tension between them.

That is not the kind of weather we can leave people and animals outside in. Not on our watch.

So I went online and booked them in their room through Monday. This gives them a little room to breathe, a little time to regroup, and a chance to hustle and try to make some money so they can continue their stay on their own.

This is exactly why Pay It Fur-Ward exists. To step in during moments of crisis, to prevent people from being pushed back into dangerous conditions, and to remind them they are not alone.

If you’re able to help us keep doing this work, donations and shares are always appreciated. Every single night we can keep someone warm and safe matters more than words can say.
